Full roof re-glazing with upgraded glass specification

The roof lantern on our client's orangery had several failed double glazed units that needed replacement.  The southerly orientation of the lantern had resulted in our client reluctantly installing roof blinds to provide some solar control.

We discussed many options and the decision was made to remove all the blinds and existing roof glass to complete full re-glazing incorporating a neutral shade solar control glass.  The glass specification included Pilkington 'Activ Sunshade Neutral' outer leaf, argon gas filled cavity and Pilkington 'Optitherm' inner leaf to provide solar control, self-cleaning and thermal enhancements.

This offered significant improvement to temperature control within the room and just as importantly our client is much happier with the internal appearance now the blinds are removed.
